The problem with America's current welfare system is that it is draining the state's and government's income which could be used to help the people who would need welfare from ever needing it by supplementing educational programs to keep kids in school and minimizing teen pregnancy. The money could also help with the U.S. debt which seems to never be paid since it just keeps going up and up. To combat this national problem, the U.S. welfare system should be eliminated in every circumstance except for single mothers/fathers with a child and military veterans. Too many people are abusing the current welfare system by taking money for free from taxpayers for things that are not neccessary. Although most people would want to keep welfare, they do not want to pay for it.
